URGENT OPPORTUNITY
Thanks to a partnership with Horizon Community Funds – donors to the NKY Trail Fund are now eligible recipients of the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit program.
The Endow Kentucky Tax Credit Program allows individuals to lessen their tax burden by up to 20% (not to exceed $10,000 per individual/entity or $20,000 for married couples filing jointly). This is a great way for YOU to control not only where you want your tax dollars spent but also to support the Northern Kentucky Trail Fund.
There is a statewide limit of $1 million awarded, so it is critical to get your application submitted before June 30th. The application window opens on July 1, and we know those allocations will go FAST.

How to Apply for the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit
Please use the following steps to ensure your application is received in a timely fashion by the state:
1. Obtain the Application

2. Email a Copy to Nancy Grayson
After completing the approved preliminary authorization form designating the NKY Trail Fund as your selected fund, please email a copy to Nancy Grayson (ngrayson@horizonfunds.org).
Please keep a copy for your records. Horizon Community Funds will submit your application as a courtesy when the application window opens on July 1.
Timeliness is critical, as these tax credits have historically been completely allocated during the first week of July.
3. Contribute to an Endowed Fund at Horizon
Within 30 days of receiving the approval letter from the Kentucky Department of Revenue, you must make the contribution to an endowed fund at Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky.
4. Proof of Gift & Final Approval
Within 10 days of making the gift, Horizon Community Funds will send proof of the gift to the Kentucky Department of Revenue by filing the Notice of Endow Kentucky Tax Credit and Certification form.
The Department of Revenue will then review the provided proof and issue a letter of final approval to you as the donor.
