ODNR Stonelick Park Map

ODNR will be using Recreational Trails Program funding to complete the next phase of the project which will go out to bid in the fall of 2026, with construction expected to finish in 2027.

Scope of Work:

• Extend the Blue Heron Trail East from the Edenton Lot to SR133. (0.57mi)

• Extend the Lakeview Trail West to the Disc Golf Parking Lot. (0.44mi)*

• Build crushed aggregate trail around the campground utilizing part of the existing Southwoods Trail. (1mi)

• Rebuild a section of trail between the park road and the new crushed aggregate trail (0.21mi)

Future Scope of Work:

• Extend the Lakeview Trail West from the Disc Golf Parking Lot to the Dam.

• Build a new trail between the campground and State Route 133

• Decommission the existing Beechtree Trail and Red Fox Trail as these trails cut through forested wetlands and are difficult to maintain.

About

CORA is leading the creation of a 9.4-mile sustainable trail around the lake and campground at Stonelick State Park. CORA initiated the concept for the trail system and collaborated with Mark Allen, Statewide Trails Administrator for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), to present the project to the community. The loop will improve drainage, reduce maintenance, and connect campers directly to Edenton.

Blue Heron Trail at Stonelick State Park

Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA) aims to provide spaces for families to gain safe access to fishing spots, nature exploration, and a healthier campground experience by trail, all while opening new opportunities to revitalize the historic schoolhouse and strengthen Clermont County’s regional appeal. The trail was designed as a pilot project for the Ohio Outdoor Corps, with construction beginning in 2023. Two miles are already complete, but the program’s cancellation in 2025 paused work. The full system is mapped, engineered, and shovel-ready, with routes designed for long-term sustainability and multi-use access.
