A New Chapter for Devou Trails

The Devou Park Trail Collective (DPTC) has been an integral part of CORA’s journey
since the Devou trail system began. Operating informally under CORA, DPTC has
played a key role in maintaining and enhancing this beloved trail network.

Recently DPTC made the decision to incorporate as a separate entity and align more
closely with the Devou Good Foundation. This presents new opportunities for growth
and collaboration.

This transition allows both organizations to hone in on their unique missions:

  • CORA will remain focused on expanding new trails and forging regional trail
connections.

  • DPTC will adopt a more locally focused approach to maintain and preserve the
legacy of the Devou Park Trail Project as the gold standard regional trail destination.

CORA is proud to support DPTC in this new chapter and will continue partnering
wherever possible to enhance the trail experience for everyone. You can still find trail
status updates for Devou on coratrails.org, ensuring easy access to the latest
information.

We’re excited to see how this collaboration strengthens the regional trail network and
look forward to continuing to serve the trail community together.

Devou Park Trail Project History

The Devou Park Trail Project has played a key role in expanding the natural surface trail
offerings in the Tri-State area. Successful natural surface trail initiatives invariably
involve the collaboration of several managing organizations.

Established in 2004, the Devou Park Trail Project initially utilized the Kentucky Mountain
Bike Association (KyMBA) as the fiscal sponsor. In 2012, the Devou Park trail project
partnered with the Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA), a chapter of the International
Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). The Devou Park Trail Project is currently managed
by the Devou Park Trail Collective (DPTC) in collaboration with the City of Covington
and the Devou Park Advisory Council (DPAC).

Established in 2016, the DPTC became a Kentucky-based nonprofit organization in
2024. Acknowledging CORA and KyMBA's long-standing stewardship, the DPTC Board
of Directors decided to adopt a more locally focused approach to maintain and preserve
the legacy of the Devou Park Trail Project as the gold standard regional trail destination.
While CORA and KyMBA concentrate on regional trail advocacy, the DPTC only
focuses on Devou Park.

In collaboration with the City of Covington and the Devou Park Advisory Council, the
Devou Park Trail Project Funds are being carefully managed. To date, the DPTC and its
partners have successfully allocated over $500,000 to this initiative and built over 15
miles of natural surface trails. The DPTC does not currently have its own (while we hope
to in the near future) non-profit determination. As a result, we have partnered with The
Devou Good Foundation (devougood.com) to be the fiscal sponsor for the project. The
Devou Good Foundation has been an unbelievable partner, past and present, both
financially and in kind.
