Developments at Stonelick State Park: Shared-Use Trails and Upcoming Adventures
Stonelick State Park
Clermont County, Ohio
CORA partnered with ODNR to identify an opportunity to activate the campground and lakeside areas at Stonelick State Park with shared-use trails.
Located in Edenton, Ohio, the Stonelick State Park project will include a nine-mile lakeshore trail that follows the perimeter closely allowing for good fishing access. In addition, there will be a doubletrack loop around the campground that will be an easier hike or bike for users and connect them to the larger trail for a longer adventure. Future plans include creating a bike only section to the west of the dam that will provide downhill fun for more advanced MTBers.
CORA created the concept for this amenity and worked with Mark Allen, Statewide Trails Administrator for ODNR to present the opportunity and its benefits to the community. The project was started at the end of 2023 and will be complete in 2026.. Americorps has employed a handful of staff to keep the project on track and CORA will lead several volunteer Trail Days to support their efforts.
