More Trails for Everyone, More Trails Closer to Home, More Kids on Bikes, More Women on Bikes, and a diverse network of trails have been my driving force over the past nine years as a CORA Board Member. I have served four years as the Vice President and the past two as President.
Today, I am announcing that I will not renew my term as President or on the Board in 2023; however, I will remain an integral part of the Trails Committee and the Fundraising Committee to drive our Braided Trail Network Projects forward. You will continue to see me at our Group Rides, Events, and everything that improves our community of Trail Users. I am planning more travel and time visiting family as I move into retirement (of course, epic bike trips).
Over the past two years, we have made great strides in engaging our community of Land Managers, Trail users, CORA Members, and Volunteers to help bring our initiatives to fruition. I am grateful for the partnerships we have built with these Land Managers, and I will continue to be a liaison to Land Managers of CORA as a member of the Trails committee.
With the impressive CORA Board and Jason Reser as the Trail Development Director, we have completed and developed so many new projects in the past two years. We have our Trail Builders Extraordinaire Crew completing Mt. Airy, Lebanon added the 4.5 miles of primo flow trails, we opened up an additional 5.3 miles to Mountain Biking at East Fork, and the Trail Crew at Hueston Woods completed the North Loop, and a new 1-mile beginner loop, Tower Park and Landen have been revitalized
We now have the RFP out to finish the trail additions at DEVOU Park, an RFP out on the Little Miami Trail Network. The Northern Kentucky Greenline Trails Network is not far behind, and have several other projects in the pipeline that we hope to announce soon. I look forward to the future of our Natural Surface Trail additions and improvements to help make Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky the outdoor destination we all know it can be.
I am thrilled with Brady DeLong taking the helm as CORA President, Sherman Butler as Vice President, and Jason Reser, Trail Development Director, continuing their role and all other Board Members renewing their terms. We also have two new Board Members, Brian Bozeman and Michelle Dunn, who bring new skills and energy to the Board.
Our trail community is in great hands with the CORA Board and leadership we have in place. However, this is also a call to action for any members who want to get involved with moving our initiatives forward. We have Committees we need folks for, we have Trail Maintenance Days, and we could use assistance with the Events we put on throughout the year. We would love to have your help supporting one of the committees. Please reach out, if you would like to participate in bringing more trails close to home.
I want to thank our current Board and Jason Reser for their support over the past two years in believing in me to lead the organization. And thank you ALL for your support, encouragement, and gratitude over the past nine years. I love our community and look forward to still being fully engaged. See you on the trails!
